Hamilton County’s Buckle Down program for the 2009/10 school year concluded Friday evening with one lucky high school student winning a car donated by Don Hinds Ford and eight others receiving a $500.00 scholarship.

Susan Spencer from Westfield High School drew the winning key that ultimately started the 2004 Ford Focus ZX3.
Julie Goodwin (NHS), Tyler Mitchener (NHS), Samantha Litchfield  (WHS), Melissa McBride (WHS), Gabrielle Bowers (CHS), Caroline Courter (CHS), Charlie Dankert, (CHS), and Mohammad Issa (CHS) each received a $500 scholarship donated by community partners.

It was a very exciting event for all involved!
A special thanks to all of our student leaders from each one of the high schools.  They did an amazing job of introducing the qualified students and of sharing the highlights of the year.

A very special Thank You to Don Hinds Ford for donating the car and hosting the banquet and to our scholarship donors; AAA Hoosier Insurance, Fraternal Order of Police #103 & 185, M & I Bank, Olinger Distributing Co. and Priority Risk Management.
We also want to thank all of our very generous sponsors that contributed throughout the year, The Auri Group, Fuel Visual Media, Duke Energy Fondation, Hamiliton County Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs, Herff Jones, Legacy Fund, Riverview Hospital, and the Finish Line.

Finally this program would not have been possible with out the involvement of the teacher advisors and the Buckle Down Project Team members:
Rebekah Overbey from CHS, Deanna Cummins from NHS and Tamie Gipe from WHS.
